The brief, the decisions and the delivery
Making a complex transport offer easier to navigate
The challenge
GTS Reading offers more than one type of transport. A customer may arrive knowing the delivery deadline, the industry context or the sort of load they need to move, rather than the formal name of a service. The older WordPress website needed a larger content structure without asking every visitor to work through the same long explanation. The commercial brief was clarity: help people identify a relevant service and provide a route to a quote.
Organise the offer by service and industry
The redesign introduced service pages and industry sections rather than relying on the homepage to explain the whole business. These are different ways into the same offer: a customer can start with what they need moved or with the operational setting. The distinction keeps navigation tied to customer questions instead of an internal list of departments.
Show fleet information alongside the offer
A dedicated fleet area provides another practical decision aid. It gives visitors somewhere to investigate transport capability before making contact. The website's role is to support that discussion, not to replace the client's operational checks or promise that a particular vehicle is available.
Make the quote journey a visible next step
Service and industry content sits alongside the quote route. This connects research with an enquiry instead of treating contact as an unrelated page at the end of the menu. For a logistics business, a useful enquiry is one the team can assess; the objective is appropriate detail, not simply the smallest possible form.
Use a proportionate WordPress implementation
This was a theme-based WordPress redesign, not a fully custom-coded theme. It is an important counterexample to the claim that every commercial website needs bespoke technology. The work focused on the content architecture, presentation and enquiry journey that the brief required.
What we delivered
- Redesigned theme-based WordPress website
- Service and industry content structure
- Dedicated fleet information and quote journey
- Location content connected to the wider transport offer
The outcome
The delivered site provides distinct routes through a broad logistics offer and a visible way to request a quote. The portfolio screenshots show the homepage, service and industry layouts, and enquiry content. The business has a structure it can extend as services change without making the homepage carry every detail.
This case study describes the documented website delivery. Location-page volume is not presented as an SEO result. Qualified enquiries, new contracts and search visibility require a separate, dated before-and-after measurement; those figures are not claimed here.
What this means for your project
If your business sells several related services, start with the questions people ask before requesting a quote. Build the navigation around those decisions. A clear structure can be delivered on a suitable existing platform; a technology change is not automatically necessary.
